Here’s $20K for Marketing. What to do Next?

I recently posted the above poll on LinkedIn.  57 total votes were cast spanning a range of markets and functions.

Results are, in order:
• 42% Website, SEO, Social Media
• 28% Branding and/or Positioning
• 16% Mobile Marketing
• 12% Outbound Marketing, e.g. email
• 2% New Marketing Materials

Anything surprising? Not so much that websites, SEO, SEM, Social are now getting increased attention and funding. Somewhat surprising that only 2% would invest in new marketing collateral and other materials, usually a big investment. That shows significantly more reliance on digital delivery of messages…..or perhaps that a $20K incremental windfall goes to the areas most underfunded.
